By promoting natural regeneration, the rate of atmospheric carbon uptake is increased and the appearance of forests throughout the harvest cycle is preserved. Hardwood carbon footprint is 0.49 kgCO₂/kg generated, but when sequestered carbon is included, it goes down to -1.03 kgCO₂/kg captured.
