Inspiration Behind
the Name Andicrose

The Celtic Heritage

Andicrose draws profound inspiration from Celtic heritage, a culture rich in symbolism and connection to nature. The name "Andicrose" traces back to a fascinating historical artifact: a silver spoon found in the Thetford Treasure at Gallows Hill, Norfolk. This precious object, now housed in the British Museum, bears the inscription "dei Fauni Andicrose," translated as "(Property) of the god Faunus Andicrose."

While the exact etymology of the name 'Andicrose' remains a mystery, some theories suggest a Celtic origin, possibly derived from the word 'ando' (wood). Andicrose would then be the Celtic God of Wood. This connection reinforces our choice of name and symbolizes our reverence for nature and the durable, natural materials we use.

Celtic Significance in Andicrose

The Celts were known for their innovative craftsmanship and the development of products that harmonized with the natural world. They worshiped deities linked to forests and trees, seeing wood as a representation of nature’s strength and vitality.

This historical and cultural connection drives us to create wooden bicycles that are technologically advanced while deeply connected to the natural environment. For us, the name Andicrose represents a commitment to the Celtic tradition of respect and harmony with nature, as well as a celebration of innovation and excellence in craftsmanship.

The Andicrose Emblem: Symbols
of Eternity and Harmony

The badge of our brand combines two important Celtic symbols: the Celtic knot and the Tree of Life

The Celtic Knot: With its intricate interwoven patterns, it symbolizes the continuity and interconnectedness of all things, representing eternity and the unbroken connection in nature.
The Tree of Life: It represents the link between the sky, the earth, and deep roots, encapsulating growth, strength, and rebirth.
